CHS Friday Night Gathering – Sept 8th, 2017 @ 7PM

NEVER TOO LATE SECTION HIKING THE APPALACHIAN TRAIL BY A GEEZER A Colebrook Historical Society Friday Night Gathering On Friday, September 8, at 7:00 PM, the Colebrook Historical Society will host a social gathering with refreshments. Highlighting the evening will be a presentation by our special guest, Libby Borden. A longtime resident of Norfolk, Libby’s interests are many and varied; one of her particular passions is section hiking the Appalachian Trail. The Trail is over 21,000 miles, traversing 14 states, and Libby has hiked over half of it. In Never Too Late Libby will share her vast knowledge about the Trail and her personal experiences as she, her friends, and her beloved Golden Retriever, Annie Rose, hiked along it. Libby enjoyed a distinguished career in both finance and publishing; she was president of Garland Publishing in New York from 1992-1998. Since her retirement, Libby has volunteered her time and efforts to the community. She is currently President of the Norfolk Land Trust. She also serves on the boards of the Norfolk Conservation Commission, the Economic Development Commission, the Norfolk Library, Norfolk Foundations, the Open Space Institute, and the Coalition for Sound Growth. In her free time, Libby enjoys gardening, birding, music, bridge, and golf. The Gathering will be held at the home of the CHS, the historic Seymour Inn, located at the intersection of Routes 183 and 182A in the center of Colebrook. All are most welcome.
