RECYCLING BINS
Please be mindful of what is going into your recycling bin. USA Hauling has reported many bins with household trash and other non-recyclables in them. If non-recyclable items are found in your bin, USA hauling will not empty your container and the Town could face a fine. HOUSEHOLD TRASH BIN
Only household consumer waste products may be deposited in these bins. Plastic grocery and garbage bags, contaminated food containers and household trash is okay. Construction debris, grass clippings and other yard waste is not allowed. If you need to dispose of construction debris you need to rent a dumpster, call USA Hauling for size and cost. 860 379-1662. If construction debris or other items that are not allowed are found in your household trash bin, USA Hauling will not empty your bin. Per our contract with USA Hauling, each household is only allowed ONE Recycling bin and ONE Household trash bin.
BULK WASTE PICKUP
Bulk waste (Mattresses, large items of furniture, etc.) pickup is available every week for items that will not fit in your bin. Call 860-379-1662 by Thursday of each week for Friday morning pickup.
ELECTRONIC RECYCLING
Electronic recycling can be disposed of at the Town Garage, 43 Sandy Brook Road, in the container to the right of the garage. Leave your items in the storage unit to be packaged and handled.
HOLIDAY TRASH PICKUP
Trash pickup will be delayed one day due to the Labor Day holiday, Monday September 4. Thursday pickup will be on Friday and Friday pickup will be on Saturday.
