Our Annual Town Meeting will be held on Monday, October 19^th, at 8 p.m. in the second-floor meeting room at Colebrook Town Hall. That night, we’ll be electing members and alternates for the following: Planning & Zoning Commission; Zoning Board of Appeals; Recreation Board; and Historic District Commission.

Flu shots will be available at the Community & Senior Center on Thursday, October 1^st, from 9-11 a.m.

Breakfast is available every Tuesday from 8-9:15 a.m. for $6. Lunch is served every Thursday at noon for $7 (advance registration required for lunch). Bingo is held Tuesdays at 1 p.m. at the Center. New players are always welcome, and if you’d like to volunteer to call Bingo, please let me know.

The next Household Hazardous Waste collection is scheduled for Saturday, October 24^th, at the Bogue Road Transfer Facility in Torrington from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Details to follow.

Beardsley Library is lending laptop computers and accessories for long-term use to eligible Connecticut residents through LaptopConnectCT. Supplies are limited. Please call the Library at 860.379.6043 to inquire by October 9^th. Laptops will be allocated via a random drawing. Learn more at the attached flyer.

The Colebrook Associates food pantry, located in the vestibule of the Community & Senior Center, is open Monday-Thursday from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m.-noon. Donations may be left at the pantry or in the collection bin at the Post Office. Needed at this time are baking supplies and personal care items

Tomorrow, Friday, September 18^th, CT Veterans Affairs is hosting “Stand Down 2026” from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Doubletree by Hilton at 42 Center Drive in Bristol.  Learn more at the attached flyer.

On Friday, September 25^th, the Colebrook Historical Society will host its final Friday Night Gathering for 2026. The topic will be the Hartford Circus Fire. In 1944, one of the worst fire disasters in American history occurred in Hartford, Connecticut. This presentation by the Connecticut Museum of Culture & History will use photos and artifacts from their collection to help tell the stories of that day. On Saturday, September 26^th, the Connecticut Oral Health Initiative’s “Salute to Smiles” program is hosting a free oral health event at the University of Bridgeport (Warner Hall, 60 Lafayette St.). Limited spots are available. Learn more at the attached flyer.

On Saturday, October 3^rd, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Colebrook Consolidated School Fifth-Grade Class Pumpkin & Mum Sale will be held in the school parking lot. Pumpkins, mums, food, bake sale items and raffle tickets will be sold. Raffles will be drawn at 2 p.m. Proceeds benefit the 2028 Nature’s Classroom trip.
