Heat-related watches, advisories, and warnings are in effect this week across Connecticut. Most of the state is currently under an Extreme Heat Warning. The last time this level of warning (formerly known as an Excessive Heat Warning) was issued in Connecticut was in 2021. The last time it was issued during the month of June was in 2008.
The Community & Senior Center will be available this week as a Cooling Center. Hours are 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday, and 8:30 a.m.-noon on Friday. Cooler temperatures are expected by the end of the week.
Breakfast is available for $6 at the Community & Senior Center tomorrow from 8-9:15 a.m. Lunch is available for $7 on Thursday at noon. For lunch, please RSVP by 1 p.m. tomorrow at 860.738.9521.
