Garage Theft and Suspicious Activity in North Colebrook Early this Morning

We have been in touch with the Connecticut State Police regarding the theft of items from a garage in North Colebrook early this morning, at approximately 4 a.m. Earlier, at roughly 3 a.m., suspicious activity was noted near the intersection of Beech Hill and Simons Pond Roads. The theft occurred on Simons Pond Road. State Police from Troop B in Canaan are reviewing video footage, conducting an investigation, and are monitoring the situation closely.
We encourage everyone to practice vigilance, taking care to ensure that all doors and windows are locked, especially when leaving your house unoccupied. Please also consider locking your vehicles parked outdoors.
If you notice unusual vehicles, strangers loitering, or signs of attempted entry, note the date, time, location, and any descriptions (i.e., vehicles and people) and contact the State Police in Canaan at 860.626.1820.
