Greetings from Colebrook Town Hall.

The School Building Committee and the CCS Board of Education—led by Chairs Mark Masslon and Sarah Robichaud, respectively—braved the weather on Tuesday night to discuss an RFP for the Colebrook Consolidated School HVAC project, approved earlier by the Town on a cost-share basis with the state. Work is to be completed during 2024. The Building Committee voted to recommend acceptance of the RFP, and the Board of Ed approved its issuance.

At last night’s meeting of the Colebrook Conservation Commission, Joyce Hemingson and Edna Travis were elected as Chair and Vice-Chair, respectively. The Commission kicked off plans for Colebrook Cleanup Day, Saturday, April 27, and local activities in support of Connecticut Trails Day (June 1-2). Details to follow. The Commission also discussed their stewardship of the Town Pollinator Garden and Cooper Trail, restoration of Pisgah Mountain Road, and a Town Natural Resources inventory, funded by a grant from the Farmington River Coordinating Committee.

Our Town Local Emergency Operations Plan is complete. By meeting the State deadline for submission, we qualify for a $5,000 grant that will be used to support Town Emergency Management Operations, led by Director Rick Tillotson. Copies will be on file in Town Hall.

CCS Superintendent Bob Gilbert will present his recommended 2024-25 school budget to the PTO and interested community members on January 24th at 7 p.m. in the CCS library. This budget was presented to the Board of Education on January 3rd. The public is welcome to attend.
